MACERATA

Known all over the world for the Macerata Opera Festival, Macerata is rich in remarkable buildings and monuments.

RECANATI AND LORETO

The beautiful texts of Giacomo Leopardi bring tourists from all over Italy to Recanati to learn about the life of the poet, where he lived, what inspired him and where he wrote. A few minutes drive from Recanati is the city of Loreto, famous for hosting the Basilica of the Holy House, one of the main places of Marian worship and among the most important and visited Marian shrines in the Catholic world. According to tradition, the angels, to protect the Holy House, moved it in flight and laid it first in Fiume, then in Ancona and finally placed it where it is now, inside the Sanctuary of Loreto.
